Friends:
The strange week before the New Year is upon us. We are cooking, baking, cleaning, and reading.
Mostly, we are feeling very grateful for all of you, who are buoying our wonderful Yakima Valley through a pandemic with your commitment to our community. We see it in your support of local businesses and your kindness with each other and strangers as we practice social distancing. It is a bright light to see during a tough year.
We - along with many of you - are looking forward to seeing how 2021 unfolds.
Until then, if you find yourself needing some comfort food during this time (or anytime), we have some suggestions this week. We've been doing some snacking.
We are thinking of all of you, wishing you good health and a very safe holiday.
With warmness,
Bridget + Lauren

Cook: We picked up a NuTrisha's Easy Prep Meal (Butter Chicken) on a whim from the McIlrath Market Drive-thru. We are now official fans. When you want to cook but don't want to cook, these are the perfect solution. You just have to pick up your protein and ingredients per the directions, and like magic, a nutritious dinner is served. We're slowly making our way through the many meals. Next on the list is the Tomato Bisque with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Eat: Try out newcomer, Why Not! My Pho Kitchen (Westpark Shopping Center on 40th and Summitview) for your next take-out meal. Their homemade bread for the Vietnamese sandwiches almost eclipses the goodies in them. Their pho broth is bomb. And their Vietnamese noodle bowls are a welcome treat. Did we try everything? Yes, yes, we did. Bonus: they knocked out the wall between Nino's Mexican Grill and themselves so you can have Mexican and Vietnamese snacks at the same time!! #winning

Eat More: Soooo...we know it's Los Hernandez Tamales, and we love said tamales, but we drove by the west side location and saw a sign, "Now serving tacos." We made a u-turn and went back and ordered a dozen tacos (carnitas), rice, beans, and all the salsa. They did not disappoint at all. In fact, we think #loshernandeztacos is going to be a thing. We ate them so fast; we took no pictures. 🤷 Try them and take pictures and tag us! (PC: Los Hernandez Tamales Facebook)
