In time for fall activities and beyond, we partnered with Kemper Brightman, overall awesome human, outdoor enthusiast, and Yakima365 Contributor to create the Guide to Getting Outside in the Yakima Valley. Kemper moved here in 2018 and wasted no time learning and documenting his exploring. This guide is meant to inspire outdoor adventures within 30 minutes from downtown (with the exception of our snow and water sports section).
And since you are newsletter subscribers, you special folks can look under the hood now.

We were recently invited to tour the Yakima YWCA. We have driven by this building for years and had no idea what remarkable things were happening behind its doors. With October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month (as well as Breast Cancer Awareness Month), it’s a perfect time to learn more and support our local YWCA.
~
The YWCA Yakima marks its 110th year in the Valley this year, showing off their ability to adapt to the community around them. What started as a hostel for young women traveling solo, is now dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. It is the “largest provider of domestic violence services in central Washington,” and a powerful force in creating a safer community for each of us. It's a unique and invaluable resource for the Yakima Valley. Click here to read more.

I'm Erika, the cheese lover behind The Abundant Table. You'll usually find me holding our children (3 yrs and 5 month old) or holding a glass of wine. I've had a passion for all things food for as long as I can remember. Three years ago I put together my first charcuterie spread and fell in love. Since then I've created countless boards for every occasion!
I am thrilled to finally be launching The Abundant Table, a custom cheese and charcuterie delivery. How does it work? Click here to read more.
