It’s hard to quantify the importance of Mighty Tieton to I Heart Yakima. Exactly seven years ago, we launched IHY at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse. Ed Marquand and the team at MT keep showing up, and are creating a little utopia for artists and residents alike. From events like Tieton Grand Prix and Tour de Tieton, to enterprises like 617 on Tieton Square and the brand-spanking-new Nomad-Mercantile, Mighty Tieton is the Pied Piper of creativity and innovation in our valley. Meet Izzy Clark, founder and ice cream maker of Huck + Bean. If her handcrafted ice cream doesn't win you over at first taste, she will with her infectious ambition and flare for naming flavors -- we especially like Maymoo and Elk Tracks. She uses local ingredients, and it is packaged to eat on the spot or take home with you. While Izzy is too young to haul her ice cream trailer, it doesn't stop her from slinging the goods at places like Bron Yr Aur and Gold Creek Station. Follow her on IG or FB!

Burgeoning small business Rooted In Candle Co. has such delicious smelling and beautiful candles, it’s hard to believe this little company has only been around for about six months. Candlemaker and business owner Jen Trammell uses only organic coconut-soy-beeswax, incredible essential oil blends; phthalate-free, paraffin-free, dye-free, raw wooden wicks with a soft, soothing crackle, and food grade glass jars that can be saved and repurposed.
