Union Gap Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

Looking for some good, clean Halloween fun? It doesn’t get much better than the Union Gap Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch. Our teen just spent five hours out there, had a blast, and didn’t get into any trouble. Best parts? While it’s family-friendly, the maze turns “scary” after 7pm, so be prepared to maybe scream a time or two. You can also rent campfire spots and watch the creepy movies they play. The Sixth Sense was up when the teen was there. He even said he’ll go again. If that’s not an endorsement, we don’t know what is. Bonus: it’s right by Jean’s Cottage Inn, which has a bit of a following. The tasty steaks are a deal and burgers are good.

Treaty Day

This year, Treaty Day, which commemorates the signing of the treaty that formed the Yakama Nation Tribe, is a bit extra. In March 2019, the Yakama Nation made national headlines when the U.S. Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling* in favor of Yakama members’ rights – under the 1855 treaty - to travel public roads without being taxed while carrying goods to market. The Yakama people gave up 90% of their land - millions of acres - for this protection. We celebrate this win with you! (Photo Cred: Gordon King/Yakima Herald-Republic)

*Cougar Den Inc. entrusted local law firm Stokes Lawrence Velikanje Moore & Shore to represent them. Shout out to locals Brendan Monahan and Jr. Cuevas. Congrats to all.
